The recognition, validation and certification of competences (RVCC) is the process through which an adult demonstrates the skills acquired and developed throughout life through formal, non-formal and informal learning, which are subject to validation and certification for the purpose of obtaining a qualification (Ordinance No. 61/2022, of 31st January).
For whom?
The recognition, validation and certification of competences is intended for adults aged 18 years or over, without the appropriate qualification for integration or progression in the labour market and, as a priority, without the completion of basic education or upper-secondary education, being particularly suitable for adults with incomplete training paths. Adults up to and including 23 years of age must have at least three years of professional experience.
What is the certification?
Completion of a process of recognition, validation and certification of competences enables the obtainment of a basic education certification (4th, 6th or 9th year of schooling) or an upper-secondary education certification (12th year of schooling), a professional certification or both (in this case, it is called a double certification), and it confers level 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 of qualification of the National Qualifications Framework – Ordinance No. 782/2009, of 23rd July.
Where?
The recognition, validation and certification of competences is carried out at Qualifica Centres, centres specialised in adult qualification.
