Within the scope of the training pathways of the National Qualifications System referenced to the National Catalogue of Qualifications, the recognition of qualifications obtained in foreign countries makes it possible to establish the equivalence between the qualification obtained in a foreign country and a non-higher qualification existing in Portugal.

For whom?

The recognition of qualifications obtained in foreign countries may be requested by Portuguese citizens and by foreign citizens residing in Portugal, who can prove that they hold qualifications obtained in foreign education and training systems.

What is the certification?

Recognition of qualifications obtained in foreign countries enables the attainment of level 2 or 4 of qualification of the National Qualifications Framework.

Where?

ANQEP is responsible for the recognition of qualifications obtained in foreign countries. Qualifica Centres which have authorization to carry out professional RVCC processes in the education and training area of the qualification obtained abroad are responsible for the reception, instruction and technical analysis of recognition requests – Order No. 13584/2014, of 10^th November.
